Rochester Castle is the venue for two open-air concerts this weekend.
The annual Castle Concerts season starts on Wednesday, July 13 with a sell-out show by Status Quo, although Rick Parfitt's place will be taken by Freddie Edwards, son of the band’s bass player John ‘Rhino’ Edwards.
The concerts continue on Thursday, July 14 with Will Young and Gabrielle and continue on Friday, July 15 with a sell-out evening of soul classics.
The line up includes Clem Curtis of the Foundations singing hits like Build Me Up Buttercup and Baby Now That I’ve Found You. Also on stage will be Gwen Dickey, the voice of Rose Royce, and the Soul Legends, who will play hits by the likes of Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Earth Wind & Fire.
The final concert will be the Castle Proms on Saturday, July 16, which this year will have a special theme.
It will celebrate 300 years of the Royal Engineers and feature musicians from the Royal Engineers Band and the Countess of Wessex Strings playing orchestral favourites. There will be dancing fountains and a firework finale.
Tickets are £32.50. Visit tickets.medway.gov.uk or call 01634 338338.
