Boxing Day dips in Kent in Folkestone and Deal

Thinking of heading out for a bracing walk this Boxing Day? How about along the beach... and into the sea?

The annual Boxing Day Dip, at 11am at the north side of Deal Pier, is being organised in aid of Digby’s Smile, a charity paying for specialist equipment for toddler Digby Donnelly who has a progressive muscle-wasting condition, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It is being organised by Deal Icebreakers alongside new organisers the Rotary Club of Deal. Enter on the day for £10 at 10am ahead of the dip at 11am. Visit dealicebreakers.co.uk or call 01304 372876.

The Folkestone Boxing Day Dip takes place on Sunny Sands beach, organised by the Folkestone Lions Club, raising thousands of pounds for local charities and runners’ choices.

Entrants can dress for a swim or something more fancy.

Personal registration is at 9.45am, followed by fancy dress judging at 10.45am and then the dip.
