Faversham: A New Day festival returns to Hernehill with Slade, Uriah Heep and Dr Feelgood among others

They brought us one of the most familiar Christmas tunes of all time, but 70s rockers Slade will be rocking the summertime sounds in Kent this weekend.

The flamboyant band, who have had 23 Top 20 singles, six No.1 hits and six albums, with hits including Cum On Feel The Noize and Coz I Luv You, over the last 30 years, headline A New Day Festival near Faversham this weekend.

Thousands flocked to the vast grounds of Mount Ephraim last year for the stunning live music line-up courtesy of the first A New Day Festival.

The family-friendly festival returns this weekend featuring the best in classic and progressive rock, blues, roots and more, with the chance for festivalgoers to camp and glamp.

The line-up features some big names, from guitar-wielding acts such as Scottish rockers Big Country, punk pioneers Dr Feelgood and folk outfit Lindisfarne.

Ten acts take to the stage on the first night, including Paradise 9, the Martin Barre Band, and Del Bromham’s Blues Devils, with headliners including Big Country and Dr Feelgood.

The final day, on Sunday, brings nine acts to the stage including 70s rockers Slade, New Model Army, True Deceivers and Chris Conway and Dan Britton.

Set in picturesque surroundings, there will also be a kidzone, craft stalls, music workshops and a range of sci-fi characters milling around.
