Taskmaster contestant Fern Brady is headlining one of the county’s biggest comedy nights.
The comedian will be at this month’s Live at the Marlowe, Canterbury’s leading live stand-up event, as the main act, following in the footsteps of Joel Dommett, Sara Pascoe, Tom Allen and more.
Fern, who was born in West Lothian and attended Edinburgh University, first started her comedy career in 2010.
In 2022, she competed on the challenge-based panel show Taskmaster alongside Dara Ó Briain, John Kearns, Munya Chawawa and Sarah Millican. She finished in joint last place, but proved a popular contestant among viewers.
She has also appeared on TV shows such as Live at the Apollo and 8 Out of 10 Cats.
Fern, 39, published her debut memoir, Strong Demale Character, in 2023 after her diagnosis of autism as an adult.
English Comedian of the Year winner and social media sensation Josh Pugh and circuit newcomer Raj Poojara, who was named as a finalist at the Rising Star New Comedian of the Year awards, will also be performing as part of the mixed bill.
The evening will be hosted by Alex Haddow, who has performed at major UK festivals such as Glastonbury and Latitude and supported Frankie Boyle and Bill Bailey on tour.
Live at the Marlowe with Fern Brady will take place at the Marlowe Theatre, just off Canterbury High Street and The Friars, on Friday, June 20. You can book online here.
