Amazon warmed up for its annual summer sale with a taste of things to come for the festive season this winter.

The online retailer recently unveiled cut prices and discounts ahead of Prime Day 2018 - a popular sale that has come to be known as the 'Summer Black Friday'. This year’s edition will be a 36-hour event that will get underway at noon on Monday, July 16 and end at midnight the following day.

Part of its build-up for the big sale was the Amazon Christmas Wish List 2018, an early look of the products that will be up for grabs during the upcoming winter holiday season.

They include electronic appliances, smart home items powered by Alexa, beauty products, clothes, food and beverages and toys.

Amazon’s Wish List allows customers to select items from its website and store them in a Save for Later list. Some people use this feature to store items they are considering buying in the current shopping session. Others create Wish Lists to send to friends and family to give them gift ideas.

Amazon will also be rolling out deals in the weeks leading up to Prime Day including three months free trial for Discovery, Shudder, BFI and MGM video channels, four months AMU (Amazon Music Unlimited) individual plan for 99p and a bounty for every qualifying Prime free trial sign-up.
