Organisers of one of the county's popular heritage railways has announced it will reopen in May, following the Government's announcement on easing lockdown restrictions.
Under Step 3 of the Government's roadmap, from May 17 outdoor performances can go ahead and many social contact rules will be lifted, with many outdoor attractions able to reopen.
As a result the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells has announced it will be reopening on Saturday, May 22.
Commercial manager Jonnie Pay said: “We are so glad we can finally reopen and have already confirmed our upcoming events which will appear on our new website which is being launched later this month.
"We are enormously grateful for all the grant support and donations we have received to see us through to this point. We are looking forward to seeing our visitors and volunteers back at the railway and hope to have a busy summer.”
The reopening is shortly before the late May bank holiday Steam and Diesel specials on May 30 and 31.
Other special events in the calendar for the year ahead include the Summer Diesel Gala from July 6 to 8; Halloween trains on October 30 and 31 and Santa Specials on selected dates in November and December.
