If you’ve already broken most of your New Year’s resolutions, there’s still time to turn things around - and claw back some cash at the same time.
If you’re looking for an easy way to cut down on your January bills, one young man has revealed how a common kitchen appliance has saved him £300 a year.
Josh Tregale, a 22-year-old student, swears by his air fryer to reduce his costs.
He says using his Ninja air fryer doesn’t just save him money on his energy bills, but has significantly cut down his takeaway costs.
“Before, I would have gone to McDonald's for a quick meal, but now I can make a full English breakfast at home in the air fryer for a fraction of the price,” Josh explains.
“My main motivation for reducing takeaway orders is to save money and cook at home. It’s quicker and cheaper, and I’m enjoying home-cooked meals more.
“It’s great for making things like crispy onion bhajis without the grease. I’ve also learned how to make restaurant-style dishes like veggie pasta. It’s easy and reduces the waste of ordering takeaway.
"I order takeaway much less often. I only order takeaways once every two months now, and that’s mostly a treat."
The London student says the air fryer is also quicker than a takeaway, making chips, for example, in a fraction of the time it would usually take.
"The air fryer does a quick job of cooking quick-frozen chips instead of ordering takeways,” he adds.
”It saves so much money, especially making English Breakfast in the air fryer which I would usually spend a good amount of money on a week. It’s healthier, too - a crispy onion bhaji in the air fryer is a lot less greasy and healthy compared to takeaway!
“I’ve saved more than £300 a year on takeaways by using my air fryer.”
Josh’s experience is backed up by Ninja research, which recently revealed that since having an air fryer, people spend up to £200 less on takeaways a year, with over a quarter saying they don’t buy them anymore.
