Looking for somewhere to countdown to the New Year, whether you want to be home in time for midnight or partying into the small hours? Here's some ideas to help you see out 2019 and see the New Year in.
Dreamland is hosting a New Year's Eve bash at its Hall by the Sea.
Drum and bass pair Chase & Status will be at the Margate attraction on Tuesday, December 31, with support from K Motionz, DJ Fly & MC Smokie. Their date is the first in a series of Neon Nights at the attraction in 2020, which include Mike Skinner, DJ Spoony and Faithless’ own Sister Bliss. First and second release tickets for Chase & Status are sold out but general admission at £35.75 plus a booking fee, are still available. Book here.
It'll be disco time at Canterbury's Westgate Hall on New Year's Eve when Uncle Funk & The Boogie Wonderband bring disco biggest floor-fillers.
Regular performers at major festivals, the group’s flamboyant shows have slick choreography and super 70s outfits.
Having already played two sold-out shows in Herne Bay earlier this year, the group’s lead guitarist and Canterbury resident Flash Jackson said: “We are so excited to bring our New Year’s Eve party to Canterbury for the first time. We’ve wanted to play a New Year’s Eve party gig for a while but had never been able to find the right venue until now.”
Disco-themed fancy dress is deeply encouraged, and dancing shoes compulsory. Support comes from DJ Lab Rat's Super Sounds of The 70s.
Tickets cost £30 and are available from festooneventsltd.co.uk
Need a hug this New Year? Then head to Tunbridge Wells where the popular Hug-Many is back on New Year's Eve for a sixth year, on The Pantiles, starting at 7pm and going through to 12.30am.
There will be live music from funk band Oomphf, as well as DJ SimonP, a piper, and fireworks, plus a countdown clock. The event raises funds for local charities including Pickering Cancer Drop-in Centre, Trinity Theatre and Nourish Community Foodbank. Tickets are a donation of £10 per adult plus a 50p fee to cover PayPal costs. There is no charge under 12s, but donations for under 16s are welcomed.
