Asda to host first supermarket sweep-style roller disco as part of Rollback promotion at Dreamland in Margate with help from fitness coach Joe Wicks

Fitness guru Joe Wicks will be hosting a unique roller disco that will see visitors skate across the floor with a shopping trolley as part of a supermarket promotion.

The event, which is being put on by British supermarket chain Asda, is taking over Dreamland’s roller rink for two days of games, music and a chance to win hundreds of pounds worth of shopping vouchers.

As part of the store’s Rollback promotion, where more than 4,000 products have been reduced in price, online fitness coach and brand ambassador Joe Wicks will be in Margate to lead the crowd in a full warm-up before they take to the floor.

Visitors can then get their roller skates on and step inside the rink, which will be transformed into a ‘supermarket on wheels’ with aisles and shelves stacked with Rollback products.

Participants will be given 45 minutes to fill their shopping baskets with as many Rollback items on the list as possible. If you successfully tick off every item on the list, you will be in with a chance of winning Asda vouchers.

There will also be a live DJ playing music during each time slot.

“I’m so excited to don a pair of skates and take to the rink to celebrate the return of Rollback,” says 39-year-old Joe. “Supporting families to be able to access and cook low-cost, simple meals is hugely important to me and Rollback facilitates exactly that – it’s huge price reductions on the products which really matter to families, helping their money go further each week.

“I’m looking forward to helping people discover the fab product offers and also provide some recipe inspiration to help turn the amazing deals into dishes.”

The Rollback initiative will see the prices of thousands of popular products drop by an average of 25% online and in-store, including Asda Express stores, with plans to add more products at regular intervals throughout the year.

The Rollback roller disco takes place at Dreamland, in Margate, on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8. It’s free to join, but you need to book your slot online here.

Joe Wicks will be in attendance during select time slots for the Friday event only.
