After a handful of acting gigs in the noughties, Joel started making a name for himself as a stand-up comic, particularly after a breakout segment on Russell Howard's Good News in 2008.

His appearance on panel shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, a stint on the British version of hidden camera show Impractical Jokers and multiple runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival secured his place on the comedy circuit.

The Skins star also appeared in the 16th series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2016, finishing in second place behind Scarlett Moffatt, and hosted the spin-off show I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp from 2017 to 2019.

For the past five years, Joel has presented ITV’s The Masked Singer. The singing contest has become one of the channel’s most popular shows and won an International Emmy for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment in 2021.

The 39-year-old welcomed his first child, a son, with wife Hannah in 2023. The pair present a weekly podcast, Never Have I Ever, in which they regularly try out new experiences suggested by their listeners.

Joel Dommett will be at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on Monday, May 12. You can book tickets here.

The tour continues until November, with an additional date at the London Palladium in April 2026.
