Kent cinemas screen Bolshoi Ballet live from Russia, performing The Lady of the Camellias

The internationally renowned Bolshoi Ballet will be beamed live from Moscow into the county’s cinema screens this weekend.

The company will perform The Lady of the Camellias, which will be broadcast direct on Sunday, February 4.

Set in Paris, it tells the tragic love story of the young, naïve Armand and the captivating courtesan Marguerite Gautier, performed to Chopin’s romantic piano score.

Restaged by celebrated choreographer John Neumeier, the work is based on Alexandre Dumas, fils’, novel.

Bolshoi prima ballerina Svetlana Zakharova is the ailing Marguerite, with Edvin Revazov as Armand Duval.

The show will be screened at cinemas in Bluewater, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford and Westwood Cross in Thanet.
