Maidstone: Maidstone Studios to host its first pantomime this Christmas, Peter Pan, starring

Maidstone TV Studios will host its first panto this Christmas, producers have announced.

Vexx Pantomimes Ltd will stage Peter Pan, with a cast of famous faces from TV, at the New Cut Road Studios - which is where TV shows such as Later with Jools Holland and Take Me Out are filmed - from Friday, December 15 to Saturday, January 6, 2018.

The extravagant, modern show promises some well known faces plus spectacular special effects.

Producer Danny Wright said: "We’re very excited to be bringing such an extravagant and modern production to the county town of Kent! We’re very thankful to the Maidstone Studios for being so accommodating to something they are not used to hosting… but with the incredible space and unbelievable facilities we know this is going to be an unforgettable show.

The star-studded cast includes Hollyoaks star James Sutton, who left the Channel 4 soap earlier this year after 10 years, with Peter Pan being played by Lloyd Daniels, a finalist in ITV's X Factor in 2010, who has since headlined Bill Kenwright’s UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Fellow X Factor star Amelia Lily will play feisty, fun-loving Tinkerbell. Amelia shot to fame in 2011, when she finished third behind Marcus Collins and Little Mix and has since supported Girls Aloud and Olly Murs on tour.

TOWIE star Pascal Craymer and former Miss England finalist will star as Tiger Lily while also starring will be Dave Short as Dame Mrs Starkey with local actor Jazmin Patey-Ford as Wendy.

Young local hopefuls also have the chance to audition to be in the show, with auditions being held on Sunday, September 10.

Tickets for the show go on sale tomorrow at £24 to £28, and £86 for families. Bookings at early bird rates save £2.
