Medway set for busy Platinum Jubilee celebrations

Medway will come together for a right royal celebration from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June and throughout the summer.

From watching pop stars and rock royalty on a giant screen live from London, to spotting Corgis on a regal treasure trail, there’s lots of ways to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee over a special four-day bank holiday weekend.

You are cordially invited to attend an exciting programme of events and activities all around Medway, to commemorate our sovereign Queen Elizabeth II’s seven decades of dedicated service.

Join the Platinum Party at the Palace in Rochester Castle Gardens and watch our longest serving monarch’s birthday parade and service of thanksgiving on a big screen with family and friends.

Come together at community Jubilee Beacon lightings in Rainham, Gillingham, Chatham, Strood and Hoo, or at one of more than 70 planned street parties.

See and hear the sights and sounds of 'The Great Cacophony' as the River Medway plays host to the Platinum Jubilee Medway River Pageant.

Medway residents are being encouraged to get together with neighbours and friends over the four-day period to celebrate the Jubilee with street or community parties including on the day of the Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday 5 June.

Celebrate Dickens as we honour both our sovereign and great author Charles Dickens at a weekend of Dickensian discovery with a Jubilee twist.

View a replica display of the Crown Jewels, marvel at memorabilia from Her Majesty’s coronation, or even catch the Corgis on a children’s treasure hunt.

Be part of a special itinerary at Armed Forces Day, put together to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War and set in thirty acres of Green Flag awarded parkland and open spaces.
