The first Kent Craft Beer Festival to take place at Hatch food market in Gravesend this May

The Kent Craft Beer Festival will welcome producers such as Vault City and Phantom Brewing to Hatch, Gravesend’s indoor street food market, for the first time this May.

The event will bring together craft beer breweries from all over the country to showcase their tipples, with each producer offering a special one-off beer that is not widely available elsewhere.

A range of independent breweries are set to appear, including Verdant Brewing, Polly’s Brew, Cloudwater Brew and Pressure Drop.

The one-day festival will be split across two sessions. The daytime session starts at 11.30am while the evening session starts at 5.30pm.

Both sessions will include live music and Hatch’s street food stalls will be open during the festival.

The vendors offer a range of global cuisine such as pizza, burgers, jerk chicken, African dishes, Thai noodles and a Mexican stand that our reviewer gave the thumbs up during a recent visit.

Hatch, a rebrand of the previous Gravesend Borough Market, opened in June last year.

It boasts a German-themed bierkeller pub, deli and cheese counter, a wine shop, a cocktail bar and big screens for sporting events.

The market was overhauled by Beer and Feast owners Jamie Clark and Thomas Mudge, who are best known for running the Dead Pigeon pub in Rochester and the Greedy Banker pub in Rainham.

The Kent Craft Beer Festival takes place on Saturday, May 24. You can get tickets online here.

Tickets cost £12.50 and include a festival pint cup.
