Kent's top football fixtures for Christmas 2014

There is wall-to-wall football across Kent this Christmas.

Boxing Day derbies are about as traditional as mince pies and crackers and there's one to savour at Crabble, where Dover Athletic entertain Welling United. Across the county, and also in the Vanarama Conference, Dartford play host to Braintree Town. Lower down the pyramid there are some real crackers.

Folkestone Invicta take on Shepway neighbours Hythe Town in a midday kick-off and there's another local clash on the north Kent coast, where Whitstable meet Herne Bay. The footballing festivities continue the following day, with Tonbridge Angels welcoming Margate to Longmead Stadium in the Ryman League Premier Division.

Swale rivals Faversham and Sittingbourne go head-to-head at Salters Lane, while Chatham Town play host to Cray Wanderers. Gillingham join the party on Sunday, December 28, when they look to take the scalp of League 1 heavyweights Bristol City at Priestfield. Just a few miles along the A2, Ebbsfleet United will be taking on Vanarama Conference South promotion rivals Basingstoke Town on the same day.

There's a bumper fixture programme on New Year's Day, when the biggest crowd is likely to gather at the Gallagher Stadium for Maidstone United's grudge match against Tonbridge.

Dover make the return trip to Welling and Ebbsfleet are at home to Chelmsford, while there are also games at Margate, VCD Athletic, Herne Bay, Hythe, Ramsgate and Sittingbourne.
