Proms in the Park in Maidstone will be back and free this year

A town's popular Proms in the Park will be back in May - and will be free.

The event, held at Maidstone's Whatman Park, had attracted thousands for a free afternoon and evening of classical music and entertainment in the open air.

Last year, an entry fee was introduced and it was then announced by Maidstone Borough Council it would be cancelled - but Weston Homes stepped in and agreed to sponsor it for the next five years.
