RuPaul's Drag Race star Charlie Hides hosts Sex, Drag & Rock 'n' Roll at Assembly Halls, Tunbridge Wells

Pride doesn't get much more loud and proud than RuPaul and friends.

The camp competition show, RuPaul's Drag Race, is a huge cult hit - and star Charlie Hides will be bringing its platform-heeled glamour to Tunbridge Wells this weekend as part of Pride events in the town.

In partnership with The Forum and Tunbridge Wells Pride, Sex, Drag & Rock n’ Roll comes to the Assembly Hall Theatre on Friday, August 16, hosted by Charlie, who starred in the show's ninth series.

The evening will see the audience in amongst the action on the stage, with songs, comedy, fashion and an on-stage bar, with flamboyant Charlie hosting local drag king, drag queen and talent acts battling it out to win a spot at The Forum's Late Night Pride.

The panel of guest judges choosing will be The Forum founder Jason Dormon, local P!nk impersonator Luna Lestrange and X Factor finalist Bella Penfold with acts including Ivy Gunn, drag maverick Max Legroom, singer Jack Mackey, Miss Gay Folkestone Miss Di Vour and comedy queen Victoria Carriage.

The show will raise funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust, which helps young homeless LGBTQ+ people.

Book for the evening on Friday, August 16, at the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, at assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk or call the box office on 01892 530613.Tickets are £15, with a portion going to charity. Long Story Productions will be staging free pre-show glitter and face art.

Tunbridge Wells Pride promises to be bigger than ever for its third year. There will be a parade from 11am at Calverley Grounds, finishing up at The Forum.
