Organisers of the Pub in the Park festival have confirmed it will return to the county this summer.

The foodie festival founded by chef Tom Kerridge will be held in Tunbridge Wells in July and will bring together some of his chef pals including James Martin and Atyl Kochhar along with top Kent chefs, the Tanner Brothers of the Kentish Hare near Tunbridge Wells and Will Devlin of the Smallholding at Kilndown.

The event at Dunorlan Park from Friday, July 9 to Sunday, July 11 will also be live music, with performances expected from Craig David, Beverley Knight, James Blunt, Craig Charles, The Kingdom Choir and Judge Jules, and chef James Martin will be playing with his band.

Tom said: “After the year we’ve had, I think everyone deserves a good-knees up – and what better way to do it than Pub in the Park?

"We’re so excited to be doing what we do best, bringing back our feel-good festival to the towns we love and filling it with lush music and proper good food."

There will also be a special session called A Thousand Thank Yous, with free tickets for local health care heroes and key workers.

Tom added: “Key workers have been the true superheroes of this pandemic, and we want to say thanks by offering 1000 complimentary tickets in each of our towns so these superstars can let their hair down while enjoying some awesome music and lush grub.”

The team will work with NHS trusts, the emergency services, and local people to allocate the tickets.

Pub in the Park has been given Visit Britain Good to Go certification, with Covid-safe measures in place, and its scheduled date is after the point when all restrictions are due to have been lifted under the Government's roadmap.

Chris Hughes, chief executive of Brand Events, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing back our brilliant food, drink and music festival to eight towns in 2021. All of our events are flexible, adaptable and ready to get even more free as the country begins to unlock. We’re ready to bring the public some much needed fun – watch out for more line-up announcements and tickets on sale soon.”
