Here Come the Boys at the Central Theatre review

The beat boxing that opened the show was unlikely to be the cup of tea of every (predominantly) female in the audience.

But it was certainly a different way to start the show of a Strictly Come Dancing spin off theatre show, Here Come the Boys.

People queued from the Central Theatre in Chatham to the bus stop and beyond twice over to see the 'fella with Paella, the Italian stallion and the ballroom prince' wow them with their sleek, sexy moves.

The tour is coming to the end as Aljaž Škorjanec, Giovanni Pernice and Gorka Marquez head back to the Strictly training room.

The show was made up of three dance competitions - the jive, ballroom and salsa - with show numbers of every variety in between.

Between the spectacular performances, their friendly, chatty, occasionally funny conversations endeared them to the crowd.

While the Central Theatre is attracting bigger names, with Jimmy Carr selling out twice and Ben Elton on the way, the stage is probably not best suited for three professional dancers and nine incredible back up dancers.

Not that it hindered them in any way.

The loveable trio played up to the crowd, were cheeky and funny and put on a thoroughly good show.
