The retired guide dog, who will be dressed as Father Christmas for the occasion, will be giving out dog treats to four-legged visitors on both days.

He will be available between 1pm and 2pm on the Saturday and 11am and noon on the Sunday.

The festivities at Ightham, which run from Saturday, November 30 until Monday, December 23 and from Boxing Day until Sunday, January 5, includes a Christmas mini-market, where a range of local producers will be selling their wares and Father Christmas will be popping in.

Craft activities and festive music will keep everyone entertained throughout the day while the ground floor of the house will be unveiled in all its Christmas glory and open throughout December. Festive workshops ranging from table decorations to wreath making will be held in early December and there will be a Victorian Christmas toys family trail in the garden and crafts in house daily.
