The award-winning comedian and BAFTA nominee has enjoyed sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has his own one-hour special, Set Free, on Netflix.

He became a familiar face on the small screen after a three-year stint as the presenter of music-themed panel show Never Mind the Buzzcocks. He also hosted Channel 4’s Popworld alongside Miquita Oliver from 2000 to 2006.

Simon, 45, will be joined for the comedy night by podcaster, writer and comedian Alison Spittle.

In 2017, the BBC New Comedy Awards judge wrote and starred in her own sitcom, Nowhere Fast, for which she received critical acclaim.

Also appearing at this month’s Live at the Marlowe is Funny Women finalist Lily Philips and the Northern News podcast co-presenter, Ian Smith, who will host the evening.
