Diamond Nine of Spitfires to feature at Battle of Britain Airshow in Headcorn for the first time

An airshow which was the only one of its kind to go ahead in the UK last year will feature a special Diamond Nine of Spitfires for the first time this summer.

The Battle of Britain Airshow, which is held at Headcorn Aerodrome, had already announced five Spitfires which would be flying this year.

Now it has announced four more, and confirmed they will fly in the spectacular Diamond Nine formation for the first time at the show when it is held from Friday, June 25 to Sunday, June 27.

Organisers had announced the attendance of Spitfires TD314 ‘St George’, NH341 ‘Elizabeth’, N3200, PT462 and PL983 ‘The NHS Spitfire’ and have now confirmed G-IRTY ‘The Silver Spitfire, RR232 ‘City of Exeter, MH434 and MT928 will also be attending.

Despite the pandemic, the event went ahead last year and was sold out.
