A farm shop known for its local produce and onsite cafe is set to bring back a popular summer event.
Macknade, in Faversham, is throwing a launch party for the return of its outdoor street food village over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The site’s Food Village offers a selection of dishes from Kent-based vendors and drinks from pop-up bars over the spring and summer months.
There’s also a stage where musicians and bands can perform and, during the school holidays, there will be children’s workshops and cooking classes.
To kick off the season, there will be a launch party on Good Friday featuring live music from covers band The Regulars.
The event, which begins at 6pm, is free to attend and will boast a range of global street food including pizza, curries, tacos and crepes.
The Wild Box bar will also be open and serving cocktails, wine, beer, cider and soft drinks throughout the evening.
Our reporter visited Macknade’s Food Village during last year’s launch party and sampled an IPA from Deal’s Time and Tide brewery, a bottle of Biddenden’s pear cider, jackfruit carnitas from the Al Taco truck and cauliflower katsu curry from Little Katsu Kitchen.
The farm shop, which has been operating in the town since 1847, was named Farm Shop or Deli of the Year in the Kent & Medway Food & Drink Awards 2025.
The site also recently put in a bid to serve alcohol throughout the day without the need for guests to order food, which could also allow the venue to put on events like wine tastings for the first time.
Chief executive Stefano Cuomo said it is just one of many ways Macknade hopes to capitalise on its success and grow the business.
