Taskmaster winner Lou Sanders is back on tour with her new ‘deep, dumb’ stand-up show.
The comedian is kicking off the new leg of her 43-date tour, No Kissing in the Bingo Hall, with a night in Folkestone.
The 46-year-old comic grew up in Broadstairs but left the seaside town when she was a teenager to attend London Metropolitan University.
After working a string of office jobs in the city, Lou started her stand-up career by taking classes from fellow comic Logan Murray, who has worked on shows such as People Like Us and Peep Show.
Her 2018 show, Shame Pig, was the joint winner of the Comedians' Choice Award for Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Over the past decade, Lou has appeared on numerous TV programmes, from comedy panel shows such as Would I Lie to You and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown to reality competitions.
In 2019, Lou beat fellow contestants Iain Stirling, Joe Thomas Paul Sinha and Sian Gibson to win challenge-based comedy show Taskmaster and, last year, she competed in the 16th series of Dancing on Ice with her partner Brendyn Hatfield.
She also hosted the Cuddle Club podcast, with guests such as Mathew Baynton, Nick Mohammed and Mel Giedroyc, from 2020 to 2023.
The stand-up star will be returning to the Kent coast for a gig at Folkestone’s Quarterhouse on Thursday, February 20. You can book tickets online here.
