Award-winning theatre is set to pop up in Ramsgate, fresh from a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Paines Plough's Roundabout theatre will be popping up on Newington Green from Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 15.
Bringing a festival of theatre, comedy and storytelling, organisers have worked with Newington Big Local and the Creative Newington project to bring performances to town at just £5 or £1 if you live in the town.
Roundabout will feature three new plays - a mad-cap family adventure story Dexter and Winter's Detective Agency by Nathan Bryon; On the Other Hand, We're Happy, a tender, funny and hopeful play about being a mum when your name is Dad by Daf James, and Daughterhood, a firey play about the bonds that tie us, and how we sometimes need to break them, which has been written by Paines Plough playwright fellow Charley Miles.
Local work includes a talk by Miles Irving, The Kent Forager; storytelling by Wizard Stories, Inspiration Creative and a Looping the Loop show of local talent.
Paines Plough was formed over a pint of Paines bitter in the Plough pub back in the 70s and commissions and produces the best playwrights, touring their plays across the country.
