Rochester Cathedral Jazz and Blues Festival returns with 2025 line-up

An autumn music festival is returning for its third year, with even more venues taking part.

The Rochester Cathedral Jazz and Blues will see a string of musicians perform inside the historic building, as well as other churches across Medway.

This year is the first time that the festival, curated by acclaimed artist James Taylor, is expanding beyond the cathedral.

The event will help raise funds to preserve the 1,400-year-old building and celebrate world-class jazz musicians, including the BBC Big Band’s swing-inspired show and a headline set from the James Taylor Quartet.

Afro-Cuban jazz group Snowboy and the Latin Section and Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, a tribute to the much-loved Soho club, are also among the names set to perform this year.

James Taylor, who has helped put together the festival programme, said: “Using the music to connect up right across the Medway towns, the Jazz Festival is, for the first time, spreading its wings and taking place in not just the Rochester Cathedral but also St Nicholas in Strood for Snowboy’s Latin Section and St Margaret’s in Rainham for the Ronnie Scott’s band.”

The festival opens on Saturday, November 8 and runs until Saturday, November 15. You can book tickets online here.

Tickets for each concert must be purchased separately.
