Manchester’s music scene has been one of the most influential when it comes to British artists, birthing acts such as Joy Division, Happy Mondays and Blossoms.
Fans of the ‘Madchester’ glory days can relive the soundtrack of the late ‘80s and ‘90s as a string of tribute bands are bringing the city’s music to Margate.
Three bands will pay homage to some of Manchester’s best-loved artists: Oasis, the Stone Roses and The Smiths.
Oasis Forever will recreate the performance of the Britpop legends, who notably reunited for a series of sell-out stadium shows this summer, with the swagger of Liam and the sharp tongue of Noel.
The group play all of Oasis’ biggest hits, including Wonderwall, Live Forever and Champagne Supernova.
There will also be a set from the Absolute Stone Roses, who have played alongside fellow Manchester names the Lightning Seeds and Bez from Happy Mondays.
The band, who have also appeared at major UK festivals, will perform tunes such as Waterfall, I Am the Resurrection and I Wanna Be Adored.
The final act of the packed line-up is The Joneses, who pay tribute to The Smiths.
The Joneses have been performing together for almost a decade and play all the favourite songs from The Smiths' back catalogue, including There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now and This Charming Man.
The Manchester in the Area concert will be at Dreamland’s indoor venue, the Hall By the Sea, in Margate on Saturday, November 1. You can book tickets online here.
Tickets cost £29. Visitors aged between 14 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
