TV chef Rosemary Shrager will be sharing her skills with fellow foodies at her new Kent cookery school.

The former I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here contestant has just opened the venture in the Corn Exchange in Tunbridge Wells, a beautiful three-storey Regency building in the Pantiles.

Working in collaboration with executive chef John Rogers, Rosemary will provide a varied programme of courses in the Domestic School from bread masterclasses and knife skills to sushi and British dishes with a twist. There will also be chef’s tables and opportunities for corporate events with a culinary theme.

For the more accomplished chef, there is the Professional School, which will provide a comprehensive training ground for those with ambitions to become a professional chef or to work within the food industry. Rosemary will also offer a number of apprenticeships each year, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.

Later this year the school will also open a deli onsite, supplying local seasonal produce and ingredients and a cafe serving refreshments and dishes with emphasis on fresh seasonality.

Rosemary previously taught cooking at Swinton Park in North Yorkshire and at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle on the Hebrides and described opening her own cookery school as the realisation of a lifetime ambition.

Rosemary, who lives in Tunbridge Wells, said: “I cannot begin to describe how thrilled I am by my new cookery school. I absolutely love Tunbridge Wells, there’s so much to be excited about here – the Pantiles is already a foodie destination, but I hope that my school will really build on this wonderful reputation and encourage more visitors to this glorious part of the country.

“I want my cookery school to be a place for my students to come and really be inspired, learn new cooking skills and have fun too!”

Rosemary Shrager sessions this month at the Tunbridge Wells cookery school are both one-day Asian courses on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16.
Half day courses are £105, chef’s tables £52, while one day courses start from £160.
