Pub walks starting and ending at Shepherd Neame pubs in Kent

Thinking of taking a walk to a watering hole?

Faversham-based brewer Shepherd Neame have a series of walks which start and end at some of its countryside and coastal pubs.

Ranging from four to six miles, they're a chance to see some glorious parts of the county, get out for some exercise - and enjoy a refreshing drink at the end.

The Minnis Bay

This walk starts and finishes at the Minnis Bay Bar and Brasserie at Birchington, which has panoramic views overlooking one of the county's finest beaches.

An easy walk, you should allow around an hour and three quarters for the five-mile route.

At its lowest point you will be 5ft above sea level and at its highest 51ft.

Walking boots are recommended, as the route takes a variety of tarmac and concrete roadways, mud, grass and stony tracks, as well as some fields. Find out more at theminnis.co.uk

The New Flying Horse, Wye, near Ashford

This walk starts and finishes at the classic country inn in the village of Wye, in the hills of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A moderate walk, there is a four-mile route and a six mile route, depending on how energetic you are feeling.

It will take you across grass and stony tracks, fields, woodland paths and country lanes, so sturdy footwear is recommended. The pub serves food and is taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Find out more at newflyinghorsewye.co.uk

The Carpenter's Arms, Eastling, near Faversham

Starting and finishing at the quintessential English country pub, this is a moderate walk which will take you across some woodland paths, country lanes, tracks and fields, so be prepared - but there'll be a pint waiting for you at the end.

The White Horse, Boughton-under-Blean

This walk starts and finishes at the 15th century historic inn, which is a unique place to dine, drink and stay, if your legs are really giving out by the end.

A moderate five-mile walk over fields, tracks and paths, it is recommended that you allow two hours for the route. Find out more at whitehorsecanterbury.co.uk

The White Lion, Selling

You'll need to set aside an hour and a half for this four-mile walk, which starts and finishes at the traditional village pub in a picturesque village.

The walk is over a mixture of tarmac, gravel and sandy tracks, as well as fields, orchards and woodland paths, so you can expect all terrain. Details at whitelionselling.co.uk
