Renewed police appeal after Skoda driver dies in crash with Renault van on A2990 Thanet Way, in Chestfield, near Whitstable

A potential key witness to a fatal crash is being urged to come forward.

Police are appealing for help after a man in his 50s died in a collision in Chestfield, near Whitstable.

Emergency services were called to the incident along the Old Thanet Way at about 8.35pm on October 16.

A silver Renault panel van was travelling along the A2990 towards Whitstable, when it was involved in a crash with a blue Skoda Octavia being driven in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Skoda, a man in his 50s, died at the scene.

The driver of the van attended hospital for treatment of injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit have been completing enquiries into the incident.

They have established the driver of a car or small van was in the immediate area of the incident travelling towards Whitstable at the time.

It is thought they may be able to assist with important information.
