Beach hut near Marine Parade, Tankerton, set on fire 'deliberately'

A beach hut has been destroyed after an arson attack in the early hours.

Fire crews were called to Marine Parade in Tankerton at 1.50am today.

Two fire engines were sent and crews were there for more than an hour before leaving at about 3am.

The hut was destroyed by the blaze and it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

A police spokesperson said: "Initial enquiries suggest the fire may be suspicious and an investigation to establish the full circumstances is under way."
