Lifeboat crews helped rescue a sinking boat off Sheppey as part of a busy weekend for the volunteer teams.

This morning, the lifeboat helped deal with a leaking 20ft motor cruiser off Leysdown. A salvage pump was placed onboard while the stranded men were taken ashore.

Yesterday morning, the Whitstable lifeboat was launched following a report from Coastguard of a 34ft motor cruiser broken down in The Swale near Conyer.

Crews arrived to tow the vessel, which did not have enough battery power, to Conyer Creek.

The weekend's three call-outs have taken this year's number to 21 for the Whitstable crew.
