A car burst into flames causing delays on a major road.

The blaze was reported on the A299 Thanet Way London-bound in Whitstable this afternoon.

Police and fire crews attended the incident at about 2.50pm this afternoon.

There are no reported injuries and the vehicle is being recovered.

Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.

Fire crews left the scene at 3.26pm.
