Crash on A299 Thanet Way near Clapham Hill, Whitstable, causes traffic

A crash on the Thanet Way caused delays for drivers this morning.

A van and a lorry collided on the coastbound A299, just before the exit for the A290 Clapham Hill near Whitstable, at about 6am.

A second incident involving a Morrisons lorry is thought to have added to the delays.

The road reopened shortly before 10am.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 6.05am on 4 March, 2016 following a two-vehicle collision on Thanet Way, the A299.

"The incident involved a Peugeot Partner van and a lorry and was close to the turn-off for Whitstable."

The van driver is thought to have suffered minor injuries.
