Sainsbury’s store in Whitstable High Street cordoned off by police

Police have cordoned off a town centre Sainsbury’s – forcing it to close today.

Forensic investigators are at the scene in Whitstable High Street this morning.

Officers have taped off the store and the nearby path.

A police car and a forensic investigator van are at the scene.

The shop is closed today as officers continue their investigation.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: "Our Whitstable High Street Local store is temporarily closed following an incident and we are supporting the police with their investigation.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."
