More than 40 pets seized from a house over animal welfare concerns in Belmont Road, Whitstable, in joint police and RSPCA operation

Police and RSPCA inspectors have removed 43 animals from a house in Whitstable after concerns were raised about their welfare.

An investigation is continuing following the raid on the property in Belmont Road which happened on Tuesday.

An RSPCA spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a warrant was executed on March 22 by Kent Police, along with RSPCA inspectors, at a premises in Whitstable, Kent.

"A number of animals including dogs, cats and a parrot have been rescued from the premises by police on welfare concerns, and placed under our care.

"The investigation is currently ongoing."
