Whitstable Town and Sheppey United deliver thumping 9-0 wins as Faversham Town, Deal Town, Ashford United, Sittingbourne and Sevenoaks Town progress from FA Cup preliminary round

It proved to be an incredible - and goal-laden - weekend in the FA Cup preliminary round for Kent clubs!

Both Whitstable and Sheppey delivered thumping 9-0 successes against Edgware & Kingsbury and Eastbourne United, respectively.

The vastly-experienced Joe Healy and fellow midfielder Bradley Schafer struck hat-tricks for Jamie Coyle’s troops at Edgware & Kingsbury.

Defender Will Thomas and forward Dean Grant, along with Theo Osinfolarin’s stoppage-time penalty, completed the scoring for Whitstable, who have already got 19 goals from only four competitive league fixtures in all competitions this campaign.

At 5-0, home player David Agyemang and midfielder Mikey Dalton, of the Oystermen, were dismissed.

Oliver Modeste also was handed his marching orders at the death for Edgware & Kingsbury.

Whitstable’s win was their biggest-ever in the competition.

It was a similar story for Kevin Watson’s Isthmian South East Ites in front of a crowd of 300 at Holm Park.

Dover loan forward Rolando Onu netted a first-half hat-trick, playmaker Jacob Lambert contributed a treble of his own, skipper Danny Leonard bagged a brace, and substitute Daniel Bradshaw rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.

Faversham were 4-2 victors at Isthmian South East divisional rivals Merstham.

Two-goal Eniye Amgbaduba and playmaker Nathan Wood were among the goals for Tommy Warrilow’s Lilywhites, alongside Jack Parter, originally from Faversham.

Deal - thumped 6-1 at Faversham in the league in midweek - edged past divisional rivals Crowborough Athletic.

Striker Rory Smith claimed the encounter’s only goal.

Goals from Liam Gillies, Louis Collins, captain Gary Lockyer and substitute Bruno Tavares saw Ashford to a 4-1 triumph against Southern Counties East League Premier Division side Holmesdale at home.

Goalkeeper Scott Podger-King, 16, played in goal for Lloyd Hume’s Nuts & Bolts.

Sevenoaks edged an eight-goal game at Corinthian-Casuals.

Charlie Dickens, Tolu Jonah, Mason Doughty, Kevin Diomande and substitute Dan Duncanson found the net as it ended 5-3 to Marcel Nimani’s side.

Snodland Town went down 3-2 to Ashford Town (Middlesex) on the road.

Margate drew 2-2 at Cobham as they were pegged back in stoppage time.

Forwards Ibrahim Olutade and TT Walters netted for Gate but Cobham’s 91st-minute goal means the tie is going to a replay.

Substitute Ellis Brown got the game’s only goal in Sittingbourne's 1-0 victory at Isthmian South East VCD.

That came after Sittingbourne striker Danny Parish had seen his first-minute penalty get saved.

Late drama meant Erith Town’s tie with Southall will go to a replay after a 1-1 draw.

Substitute Elliott Duncan appeared to have sent the Dockers through in the 91st minute but, six minutes later, Daniel Roberts converted a penalty for 10-man Southall.

Southern Counties East League Premier Division Hollands & Blair and Knaphill will also go again for a replay, Fred Obasa scoring for Blair to peg back their hosts in a 1-1 stalemate.
