Whitstable’s FA Vase fourth-round match this weekend has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
The Oysterman were due to visit Eastern Counties League Walsham Le Willows in the last 32 of the national competition.
But the cold weather has put paid to Saturday’s match following a Friday afternoon inspection and Jamie Coyle’s Whitstable team will now make the trip to Suffolk on Saturday, January 18.
A statement from Whitstable said: “The FA Vase Match at Walsham Le Willows has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
“Following a pitch inspection by the match referee, the game, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed.
“The referee conducted the inspection today, at the same time as the game was set to be played on Saturday, owing to the forecasted temperatures and the distance our players and supporters would need to travel.
“The match will now take place next Saturday, January 18th, at 3pm.
“Coach tickets purchased by supporters will be valid for the rescheduled match.”
Whitstable are next due in action on Tuesday night when they host Hollands & Blair at The Belmont in the Southern Counties East Premier Division, kick-off 7.45pm.
