A late show ensured Whitstable produced an FA Vase shock as they became the first side to beat Jersey Bulls this season on Saturday.

The previously undefeated Combined Counties League Premier Division South side - one of the favourites to win the Vase - looked on course to progress from the third-round tie when Francis Lekimamati put them ahead in the 13th minute at The Belmont.

But Josh Oliver equalised from the penalty spot on 84 minutes before, minutes later, young substitute Nico Grierson emphatically struck the winning goal in Whitstable’s 2-1 victory.

The Bulls had Sammy Sutcliffe sent off late on, either side of team-mates Luke Watson and Harry Curtis being sin-binned.

Southern Counties East Premier Division outfit Whitstable’s win came despite being without the suspended defender Jake McIntyre and the cup-tied Liam Gillies and Dean Grant.

They visit Suffolk’s Walsham Le Willows in round four.

Southern Counties East Premier Division leaders VCD ran out 2-0 victors at Windsor & Eton.

The visitors went in front courtesy of an own goal in the 35th minute and doubled their advantage through Bethel Gboda before half-time.

Windsor & Eton had Oliwier Bach dismissed when they were 1-0 down and team-mate Ross McKernan was given his marching orders five minutes from time.

They will host Epsom & Ewell in the next round.
