Ashford's Eleanor Burns fought off tough competition to win the under-13 girls' title at the Kent Junior Badminton Championships at Paddock Wood despite being just 11 years old.

The Highworth pupil, who is ranked 15 in England at under-13 level, also won the doubles event with Hannah Spring.

The youngster, who only took up competitive badminton 18 months ago, received her medals from Commonwealth Games medallist Jo Muggeridge.
