Gritter lorry overturns in Ashford, shutting A2070 at Finn Farm Roundabout

Police shut part of an A-road after a gritter lorry overturned on a roundabout.

Police were called just before 2.30pm, with queues building up in the area.

An ambulance crew also attended but left the scene at 4pm and no one was taken to hospital.

Earlier in the day, Kent Highways said it would be treating all primary routes in the county until 4am on Saturday.

It said the expected minimum overnight road surface temperature is -4.2°c.

Elsewhere in Kent, a driver had a lucky escape when their car overturned in icy conditions in Maidstone on Friday morning.

And on Wednesday, a country road in Selling, near Faversham, was shut after a vehicle overturned.
