Police and highways teams have reopened the A2070 at Hamstreet after a collision between a car and a trailer.

The road had been closed in both directions following the accident at 11.56am at the junction with the B2067.

The trailer is believed to have come loose and hit a car travelling behind. Fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene, and oil spillage teams cleared diesel on the road.

KCC Highways have removed diversions and motorists can now access the road from the A259 northbound and the A2042 southbound.

It is not yet known if anyone was hurt in the crash.

More to follow.
