An Albanian man, refused entry to the UK, has died after falling from a Eurostar train in Kent.

It is thought the 22-year-old was leaving Britain voluntarily when he fell from the London St Pancras to Brussels service at Cheriton yesterday evening.

A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed the man boarded at St Pancras station in London.

It's not known whether he had a ticket, but he is said to have forced open the train doors before falling.

The spokesman said officers were called to the high speed line at Cheriton at just before 6pm yesterday.

Paramedics were also there, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He said: "The incident is being treated as non-suspicious and, as part of the file for the Coroner's officers, we will be working to establish the full circumstances leading up to the man's death.

"Officers will also be working to inform the man's family."

It is believed the man had arrived in the UK earlier yesterday from Brussels and was returning voluntarily after being refused entry.

The train involved was the 17:04 London St Pancras to Brussels service.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and have launched an investigation.
