Two cars in Charing have been damaged after drivers heard a "loud bang" as they were travelling up a hill.

Both vehicles were found to have small dents in the side panels after hearing the mystery noise in Charing Hill between 6pm and 6.30pm on Sunday.

Police have now launched an appeal to establish what caused the damage.

Sergeant Jasmine Bloomfield said: "While we do not know what caused this damage we believe it was done deliberately and has the potential to cause injury if a window is smashed or a driver is startled by the noise.

"I would be keen to hear from anybody who knows who may be doing this."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 01843 222289 quoting reference ZY/044812/16, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
