Ashford: Arrest after woman suffers serious head injury at house in Lees Road, Willesborough

A man in his 20s has been arrested after a woman suffered a serious head injury at a property in Ashford.

Police received a report just after 5am that the woman - who was in her 60s - had been injured at the house in Lees Road, Willesborough, some hours earlier.

One police car was at the scene in Lees Road this morning as well as a police van in the nearby High Trees.

The woman was taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

A 26-year-old man from Ashford has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers were at the scene this afternoon.

They say inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
