Animal cruelty arrest after man kicked dog in Brookfield, Ashford

A man has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty after a dog was kicked in an incident caught on camera.

The suspect was detained when police were called to Brookfield Road, Ashford, following an alleged disturbance on Thursday.

A video later posted online showed a man kicking a dog in its midriff.

The incident appears to have taken place in a hallway, with the footage captured on a doorbell camera.

Police have confirmed a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and animal cruelty.

A spokesperson said: “Police were called to a report of a disturbance near Brookfield Road, Ashford shortly after 7pm on Thursday, December 7.

“Officers attended and a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and animal cruelty.

“He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.”

The RSPCA has also been contacted for a comment.
