Ashford Town were placed into administration on Thursday following a hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Club director Don Crosbie had petitioned for the club to go into administration.

The club's official site said: "The move to have Ashford Town Football Club put into adminstration has been successful.

"The newly-appointed independent administrator has asked for all sealed bids to be placed by 5.30pm today."

Ashford need to move quickly in order to have their FA suspension, in place for failing to pay loan fees to Ebbsfleet, lifted so their application to join the Safety Net Kent League can be heard. The league season is due to get under way on August 7.
