The eight-month-old baby boy who died in a car accident in Challock has been named.

Rowan Colton from Faversham was in a red Fita Punto being driven by his mother Adeliza Colton, on May 26 just before 7pm, when the car crashed into a tree.

The vehicle overturned, and Rowan suffered serious head injuries. No other vehicle was involved.

He was taken to William Harvey hospital and later transferred to Kings College Hospital where he died the following day.

His mother sustained minor injuries and she is keen to warn other drivers, particularly parents of the possible consequences of a lapse in concentration when driving.

The road was closed until 10pm while the serious crash investigation team (SCIU) examined the scene.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses to contact the SCIU on 01622 798538.
