He has been bailed until September 9.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now looking into the circumstances leading up to the crash and would like to speak to witnesses.

Det Con David Holmes of the SCIU said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw the bike before the collision or if they witnessed the collision itself.

"We are also investigating how the bike, which was reported missing earlier, came to be involved in a collision, so if anyone might have information about that, we urge them to get in touch."
