Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash in Main Road, Sellindge

A man has been arrested after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash.

The accident, which involved the motorbike and a lorry, happened in Sellindge, near Ashford, yesterday at around 2.20pm.

It led to an air ambulance landing near the scene close to the Airport Café, where the man was treated for serious injuries by paramedics.

The accident took place near the Airport Cafe in Sellindge (12424178)

He was then taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

He has since been transferred to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of careless driving and remains in police custody.

Police working to establish the circumstances of the collision are appealing to anyone who saw the lorry or the motorcyclist in the moments leading up to it to get in touch.
